The Group: Emergency Exit

In order to work independently on projects and to take part in artistic life outside the walls of INTERSTUDIO, young artists - students, visiting students and teachers from the Studio of Paratheatrical Forms (Sobolev School) - formed the group EMERGENCY EXIT (Zapasny wykchod) in 1995.





The members of the group work with performance art, installation, and objects. They use a wide range of artistic technologies, creating also photographic, video, cinema and slide performances and Installations.




At different times the group consisted of 7 to 15 members. Over three years the group members created more than 100 pieces of arts.





There have been exibitions in Moscow, St. Petersburg, while members of the group also exhibited in Kiel, Stockolm and other European cities.

The group works in Vladimir (Zapasnoy or Spare) Palace at Tsarskoje Selo.

One of the most important group projects is the Zapsnaja Gallery there.
